*Financial Assistance for the Membership fees and Scout handbooks is available if needed for youth members only. Please complete the Registration Scholarship Application for consideration.
Complete your application online through BeAScout.org or submit a paper application, available for download or from your unit or Council.
Applications are required for all new Scouts, leadership position changes within the same unit, transfers (in or out of Council), or multiples (those serving in more than one unit - in or out of Council).
Returning Adult Leaders do not need to submit a new application (unless they have been unregistered for more than a year, they are changing units, or they are changing adult leadership positions within their unit).
Out-of-Council transfers/multiples need to provide the following information: Name, Date of Birth, Membership ID (from the Council they are coming from), and the name of the Council they are transferring from.

Family Troop Information
The Family Troop Option allows a Scouts BSA troop to serve both boys and girls within a single troop structure. This option was approved by the National Executive Board and became available to all chartered organizations on December 15, 2025.
Choosing the Family Troop Option is entirely voluntary. Units may continue operating as single-gender troops if that best meets the needs of their Scouts and chartered organization.

Ready to Convert?
Troops choosing to transition to a Family Troop must complete the Intent to Convert Form.
After the form has been completed and approved by your Chartering Organization, submit it to the Erie Shores Council Registrar to begin processing your troop's conversion.
